Creativity can be fragile. Sometimes the fear of judgement from our peers and the expectation of an amazing result can create a universal pressure. This can hinder the creative process quite dramatically as it transpires to fear, which is a well cited limitation of creativity. For these reasons, it's super easy to find yourself in a bit of a creative rut.
The romanticism surrounding creativity is something that I personally feel needs to be addressed due to the pressure it can implement onto one individual. Perhaps this begins to highlight the cultural obsession between a tortured soul and a genius, with many believing that the two are synonymous.
If any of you are interested in this subject, or find yourself a little overwhelmed with creative pressure, I have compiled 5 inspiring and thought provoking TED talks regarding the way that we culturally and individually approach creativity.
Elizabeth Gilbert - Your Elusive Creative Genius
Phil Hansen - Embrace The Shakes
Julie Burstein - 4 Lessons in Creativity
David Kelley - How To Build Your Creative Confidence
Ken Robinson - How Schools Kill Creativity
Thank you for this, the Ted talks are very useful
